Stabilizing platform for AMS584’s sensors

Strong winds and gusts can make autogyro’s flight trajectory unstable. This translates directly into the quality of acquired data. To ensure high-quality measurements regardless of the conditions, the orientation of measuring devices has to be stabilized.

The applied mechanical solutions allowed to maximize the scope of stabilization with limited space inside the autogyro. Advanced control system’s diagnostics protect sensitive measuring devices against damage in case of stabilization system failure.

The stabilizing platform was designed for Airborne Mapping System AMS584.
